Objective
Clear eight levels while keeping the combo counter as high as possible. The counter resets to zero the moment the ball touches your paddle.
How to play
Keyboard
- ← / → or A / D - move the paddle
- Space - launch the ball
- P - pause and resume
- R - restart
- M - sound on or off
Mouse
Move the pointer across the play area and the paddle follows. Click to launch. Mouse control gives analogue positioning, which is what most high scores are set with.
Touch
Drag your finger anywhere on the play area - you do not need to touch the paddle itself. Tap to launch. Large left, launch and right buttons appear below the game on touch devices. Keep your finger low on the screen so your hand does not cover the bricks.

What makes this one different
The combo rule reverses one of the genre's basic instincts. Normally you want the ball back on your paddle, because that is where you have control. Here, every paddle return costs you the multiplier you have built. The best players in this game are the ones who set up long rallies inside the brick field and then get out of the way.
Tips for Arcade Breakout
- The multiplier caps at ten, so a single ten-brick chain is worth more than four three-brick chains.
- Steep upward angles keep the ball inside the wall longer. Flat angles send it straight back to you and end the chain.
- Golden bonus bricks are worth six times a normal brick before the multiplier is applied. Save them for the middle of a chain.
- Multi-ball is a mixed blessing here: more balls clear faster but return to the paddle more often, which breaks chains.
- Clear the lower rows last. A ball trapped above the remaining wall generates the longest chains in the game.
Frequently asked questions
How does the combo multiplier work?
Each brick destroyed without the ball touching your paddle raises the multiplier by one, to a maximum of ten. Touching the paddle resets it to zero.
Do combos carry between levels?
No. The counter resets when a level ends, and your best combo for the run is shown on the game over screen.
What is the gold brick?
A bonus brick worth 60 base points instead of 10. It still counts towards the combo.
Is this harder than Brick Breaker Classic?
Slightly, mostly because chasing combos encourages riskier play than simply surviving would.
